  Task 1 (1-3)

  1. Some people prefer to shop in bigshopping malls, while other prefer smaller shops. Which do you prefer?

  Response:

  I preferbig shopping malls. There are some reasons for my like. Firstly, I enjoy betterservice in shopping malls. Take after-sale service for example. As long as Ikeep the invoice, I can send back my purchase within seven days for refunds,whatever the reason. And sometimes, goods return happens without an invoice. Moreover,I love the surroundings there. When in the shopping mall, I am not onlyshopping there, but enjoying the parking lot, cuisine center and cinema locatedright in the shopping mall, and this is a huge plus.

  2. Talk about a type of clothing that ispopular in your country.

  論點(diǎn):

  1 價(jià)廉

  2 環(huán)保

  Response:

  I'd like to talk about school uniform. There are some reasons for its popularity.Firstly, it’s cheap, as every set costs only 100 yuan. Moreover, it isenvironment friendly, as it can stay unwashed for more than a week and thuscauses less trouble to laundry machine, electricity and water as well. Besides,it is convenient, as we don't need to decide what to wear every morning.Therefore, we can concentrate better on study and other school related issues.

  3. Do you agree or disagree thatuniversity students should take part-time jobs?

  論點(diǎn):

  Response:

  I thinkit’s a good thing. There are some reasons. Firstly, part-time jobs bring us money.It on one hand contributes our expensive tuition and housing and on the otherhand releases parents’ financial burden. We are therefore less worried whetherwe can make a living without parents. Moreover, it accumulates socialexperience. There’s something that cannot be obtained in class, such as workexperience. And during a part-time job, we start to learn how to effectivelycommunicate with other peers in the working surroundings and become more maturethan those who have zero work experience.

  Task 2 (13-15)

  13. When on a trip, some people like to keep a journal and take pictures; some peoplejust enjoy the journey without recording. Which do you prefer and why?

  觀點(diǎn):takepictures and keep a journal on the trip

  論點(diǎn):

  Response:

  I prefer to take pictures and keep a journal onthe trip. There are some reasons for my choice. Firstly, it’s a better way tocatch up with beautiful memories. Although I can focus on the view whentraveling, pictures and journals tend to be more accurate and will be of greathelp when I am recollecting precious moments on the trip. Moreover, it’s aforce to my concentration. When taking pictures and keeping a journal, I haveto one-hundred-percent focus on the moments on the trip in order not to missout any important detail I’ve experienced that is firmly connected with tripand therefore, I have to be involved during the whole sight-viewing and have notime for cell phone games or random chats with peers.

  14. Somepeople prefer to take a vacation in cities, while other prefer to spend theirvacation in countryside. Which do you prefer, and why?

  觀點(diǎn):take avacation in cities

  論點(diǎn):

  Response:

  I prefer the former. There are some reasons.Firstly, it’s convenient to make public transportation transfers in the city.Comparatively speaking, public transportation is more complete in the city andthus is more convenient for travellers who are strangers there. Moreover, theenvironment is actually better in the city. Someone may argue that cities havebeen polluted by industries, but the truth is that most polluting industrieshave been moved to the countryside and therefore, city centre may be a betterchoice.

  15. Do youagree or disagree with the statement that the wealthy should do more to helpthe poor. Explain your answer in detail.

  論點(diǎn):

  Response:

  I do think the wealthy have the responsibilityto help the poor, but in the form of job opportunities instead of directfinancial support. There are some reasons. Firstly, it’s a solution benefitingthe widest variety of citizens, most urgent and necessary. Vacancies will bringinstance improvement to the life of the poor, business of the helping companyand employment rate of the whole society. Moreover, it will fundamentallybenefit the poor. Diligence is acknowledged as a main solution to getting ridof poverty and a chance to work will thus benefit the poor from the ground up.
